Entity:

An entity is a non-physical parasite.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, and Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, and many other ancient systems, a human being isn't just made of a physical body. There are other layers, such as the qi of acupuncture.

Just as you can have intestinal parasites, your subtle bodies can be parasitized by non-physical energies and presences.

So this is just what an entity is: a piece of non-physical energy with some consciousness of its own, which parasitizes the human system.

 "Period" in FS terms:

The primary requisite for construction of a Flying Star chart is to know the "Period" of the house. This is the beginning of application of the time factor to determine the allocation of qi throughout the structure. There are several variants for determination of Period for use in construction of a star chart. Some schools prefer to utilize the the move-in date as the essential time factor. However, the most prominent recognized method is to use the time of construction as the determining factor of Period. In essence, construction of a structure is organized into aspects of foundation, framework and roof. The foundation determines the compass directions of the structure. The framework determines how qi will flow within the internal barriers. But the roof determines what energy is actually sealed within the structure. We do not really need to consider the move in date as any major aspect of feng shui.
